If you’re looking for ways to save on Christmas decor this year, then I have a couple for you. On Friday I shared a few shots from my entryway and staircase and promised I’d share some secrets with you.
Are you ready?
85% of the decor on this table came from Goodwill.
See the white candles on the right side of the picture? Goodwill. Here’s what’s even better. I bought two margarita glasses ($1.00) and one candle stick holder (.50) for them to sit in.
I find it totally hilarious because I feel as if I’m beating the “system” by creating something beautiful without spending a fortune. Here’s a shot of them (just so you believe me) before I put them in place.
Are you ready for another one?
The red orchid? (At least I think it’s an orchid) $3.99 at Goodwill. Promise. I love it and was dumbfounded when I found it on the shelf. I can’t believe no one else scored this one before me! I’m also a firm believer in repurposing items so here’s another one:
I used a flower vase for my candle holder! I have quite a few flower vases laying around and couldn’t find another use for them, so why not use them for candles? Here is a shot from my dining room where I used 3 bud vases (from Goodwill) for candle holders for my “wine pouring station” which I discuss here.
And the garland on the bannister? $5.99 for a big bag at one of our local consignment stores.
I had a few thin strands of my own garland but when I found this bag, I couldn’t pass it up! I used ribbon and Christmas ornaments from the Dollar Store to dress it up.
Have some Holiday decor secrets you want to share? Please do! Would love to hear from you! My comment button is at the top of the post. Thanks!
PS Stay tuned! Get free Christmas tree trimmings for your home! And we start a new giveaway tomorrow if you can come back!

You did an amazing job with what you found! I am not always lucky when I go to goodwill and then I find I get discouraged. Thanks for giving me some encouragement to return!
Thanks Pati! There are days I go and find nothing. And then other days, I score big. I think it’s just hit or miss so I try to go at least every week. 🙂 I also hit all of them. Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc.etc. Thank goodness for all them! Be blessed!

Love going to Salvation Army and Goodwill around this time of year. People get rid of vintage ornaments that make me squeal!!!
Yes, agreed! They are the best! We have a Salvation Army Select store which is a little more “upscale” and is fantastic as well! Love supporting them!
Thanks for stopping by!

Slightly off topic – I think the red flower is an amaryllis.
